Dießen - The small park between the listed Seerichterhaus and the senior citizens' home on Färbergaßl has so far been used more for short walks than for lingering.
That should now change thanks to a joint campaign by the Dießen youth and the senior citizens' council.
Lea Schürer and Steff Sanktjohanser, the initiators of the youth council, met with open ears from Mayor Sandra Perzul and environmental officer Gabriele Übler with their idea of a freely accessible raised bed garden.
The Seniors' Advisory Board with its chairman Dr.
Ludger Stürwald was enthusiastic.
The project was implemented within a few weeks and has now been handed over to the public.
Not only the neighboring seniors and young people with green thumbs can plant and harvest here to their heart's content, but everyone.
According to Perzul, this should make the Seerichter Park a place of encounter again - as in earlier times.
In the three raised beds, which protect your back and keep snails away, winter-proof herbs such as parsley, sage, lemon balm and peppermint were planted together at the start.
