Annalena Baerbock prevailed against her co-chairman Robert Habeck.
It was also exciting at the Union: CDU boss Armin Laschet and CSU boss Markus Söder got entangled in a week-long power struggle over the K question.
Finally it became Laschet, to the displeasure of the Bavarian sister.

Olaf Scholz (SPD), born 1958, Federal Minister of Finance, formerly First Mayor of Hamburg
For the union of the CDU and CSU, the polls for the federal election went downhill from now on.
The initially confident Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet came under heavy pressure because, according to surveys, SPD man Olaf Scholz passed the 60-year-old Rhinelander in favor of voters.
On Tuesday, September 21st, based on the latest polls by the opinion research institutes, there was a lot to suggest that Scholz would win the election - because: The Social Democrats were (in some cases well) ahead in all the surveys.

There is still a close race between Armin Laschet's CDU and the SPD for Chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz.
But more and more the Social Democrats are leaving.
Scholz's claim to the chancellery seems legitimate, even if of course a coalition has to be found first.
The Greens with Chancellor candidate Annalena Baerbock take third place.
Which party will provide the next Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and which candidate will succeed Angela Merkel has not yet been clarified.
