An indictment was filed this morning (Monday) against Omri Amsalem, a 19-year-old resident of Kiryat Shmona, accused of stabbing a man who started dating his ex-girlfriend.
Amsalem, who is known to the police for violent and drug offenses, arrived last Wednesday at the "Biga" cafe in the Big complex in the Upper Galilee, where the man who started dating his ex works.
According to the indictment he called him out, so he started confronting him.
At one point he pulled out a kitchen knife that he had slipped into his underwear and began stabbing him in the abdomen, and in various parts of the body.
Only after the stabbed man managed to get back into the cafe did Amsalem escape.
The stabbed man was taken to Ziv Hospital in Safed in a light condition, vehicles from the Kiryat Shmona police were called to the scene and a short time later, after a quick interrogation, they managed to arrest Amsalem.
