A life case broke out in Ma On Shan. At about 1 p.m. this (27th) afternoon, an old man over 80 years old in Hengshan Building, Heng'an Village, was chopped by a neighbor with a knife. The neighbor fled after committing an assault.
The police arrived and sent the injured to hospital, but the old man was rescued and died.
At first, the case was temporarily listed as the wounded person was discovered, and then it was changed to murder. The police arrested a 35-year-old man and are investigating the case.
The 84-year-old man who died was surnamed Huang.
Sources at the scene said that Huang Weng was returning to his apartment on the 19th floor after going out to buy newspapers at the time of the incident. While passing through the corridor, he was chopped with a chopper on the same floor by a middle-aged neighbor on the same floor. Huang Weng was caught off guard by being cut off and injured his fingers. Painfully yelled: "Do you want to kill me?" The assailant fled immediately.
It is understood that Huang Weng knew the perpetrators.
After the incident, Huang Weng's family opened the door to check. They saw Huang Weng lying on the ground in a coma. Another neighborhood on the same floor heard Huang Weng's yelling and opened the door. They found Huang Weng was injured and bleeding, and they quickly assisted the police.
Police and ambulancemen arrived at the scene, and the ambulancemen rushed Huang Weng to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin, but he was certified dead.
The police blocked the on-site boarding for investigation. There were more than 10 stormtroopers and uniformed police officers stationed below Hengshan Building.
Sources at the scene said that the police subsequently arrested a 35-year-old man in the hospital, suspected to be the neighbour involved in the beheading.
In addition, police officers also took a woman from Hengshan Building for investigation.
