Constituency - The republic voted and at least offered a lot in terms of tension.

After a long election evening, the two people's parties, the SPD and CDU / CSU, are virtually on par, with the Greens emerging as the third strongest force in the election.

However, who will rule Germany in the future has not yet been decided.

At least for Stephan Stracke, CSU direct candidate in the constituency of Ostallgäu, the matter is clear: The Kaufbeurer is moving back into the Bundestag. With over 38 percent of the first votes, Stephan Stracke wins ahead of the SPD direct candidate Regina Leenders (12.32 percent). Despite bitter losses - four years ago the CSU member of the Bundestag had received almost 50 percent of the first votes - Stracke is satisfied: “Overall, we were hoping for a better result. It then turned out to be the expected head-to-head race in which the CSU ultimately delivered. "And he sums it up:" We are well ahead of the Union's cut. We managed to mobilize for the last few meters. ”It is important for him to have prevented a left slide in Germany. “That is good for this country.“The CSU MP expressed himself as follows about a possible formation of a government:“ We are ready to talk. ”He clearly sees the claim of the CDU / CSU to form a government.

For direct candidate Susanne Ferschl (Die Linke) it was a long time to worry about the election evening. Only a little more than three percent of the Ostallgäu voters saw them again for a legislative period in Berlin. The fact that the woman from Kaufbeur is moving into the Bundestag is due to a special clause in the federal electoral law and to her strong position on the state list of the left. She is one of four candidates from the left in Bavaria who will move into the Bundestag via the state list. On the morning after the election, the left-wing politician still sounds bent. She doesn't feel well at all about the election result. “Of course I'm kind of happy to be able to continue my work in the Bundestag,” said Ferschl in an interview with the district

messenger

, "However, at the moment the disappointment with the results in the federal government and locally is predominant."

This is how the constituency of Ostallgäu voted:

Stephan Stracke and Susanne Ferschl represent the Ostallgäu again in the German Bundestag.

Regina Leenders (SPD), with 12.32 percent, and Daniel Pflügl (Bündnis90 / Die Grünen), with 12.24 percent of the first votes, followed at a considerable distance from Stracke.

AfD candidate Christian Sedlmeir received 10.16 percent of the Ostallgäu votes.

Just behind were Mariana Braunmiller of the Free Voters, 9.04 percent and Kai Fackler (FDP) with 7.24 percent of the first votes.

The turnout in the Ostallgäu was a good 79 percent.

With the strong results at the federal level in the back, the SPD fevered with direct candidate Regina Leenders in the Dietrich-Bonhoefferhaus in Memmingen on Sunday evening.

Leenders was pleased that the “very active election campaign” had also paid off in the region, where, in her opinion, the program had been brought to the people well.

“That's why I'm extremely pleased that the second vote result is so good,” said Leenders when asked.

Incidentally, it was in 34th place on the list and therefore missed entry into the Bundestag via the state list.

Christian Sedlmeir from the AfD, on the other hand, was not very impressed with the performance of his "alternative".

“One has not been able to convince the citizen in many areas.

There is still a lot to be worked on, ”said the Mindelheimer, who was clearly critical of the words.

With a loss of more than ten percent compared to the 2017 federal election, the CSU is still the strongest force.

Direct candidate Kai Fackler assesses the first and second votes of the FDP in the constituency of Ostallgäu as “very, very positive”.

It is true that this is a bit behind the federal result, which Fackler justifies with the fact that the CSU was relatively strong in the constituency - and that with the same target group as the FDP, as Fackler said.

His personal result is also a "huge success".

At the age of 19, Memminger was by far the youngest direct candidate in the constituency.

Therefore, in view of his results, Fackler comes to the following conclusion: "This shows that the people in Memmingen and in Ostallgäu want a young voice in the Bundestag that ensures that all generations are represented in the Bundestag."

The CSU has again shown itself to be the strongest force in the Ostallgäu with 31.7 percent.

However, compared to the 2017 federal election, it lost more than ten percent (42 percent / 2017).

The second strongest force in the constituency is the SPD with currently 15.6 percent, followed by the Greens with 12 percent.

The FDP, the AfD and the other parties each receive around 10 percent of the vote.

The free voters are just below 9.1 percent.

And the left received 2.5 percent of the vote in Ostallgäu.

This is how Kaufbeuren chose

In the urban district of Kaufbeuren, the turnout was 72 percent.

The result of the first votes largely reflects that of the entire constituency.

In the urban district, too, CSU candidate Stephan Stracke is by far ahead with almost 38 percent of the first votes.

Susanne Ferschl achieved 6.23 percent of the first votes among the Kaufbeurer voters.

Therefore, the CSU leads the list of second votes in the city area (28.3 percent).

It is followed by the SPD (18.5 percent), the Greens (13.6 percent), the AfD (11 percent) and the FDP (10.9 percent).

The picture is similar in Füssen and Marktoberdorf.

The share of other parties is particularly high in both cities, which collectively make up over 24 percent (Füssen) and in Marktoberdorf even over 28 percent of the vote.

There, for example, the party achieved the base with 2.6 percent, almost as large as the left with 2.7 percent of the vote.
