The branch of the Syrian Trade Corporation in As-Suwayda announced its readiness to start receiving the apple crop from farmers for the current season, according to the approved prices for each variety.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Rabie Ghanem, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter today that refrigeration units have been equipped and committees have been formed to receive the crop from them or directly from the farmers’ orchards in the production areas, indicating that the approved prices per kilogram for the first type of the red variety amount to 1100 Syrian pounds, the yellow 1000 pounds, and the mushahah 950 pounds. The second type for red is 900 pounds, for the yellow one is 850 pounds, and for the muzzle color is 800 pounds, and for the third type for the red is 500 pounds, for the yellow is 450 pounds, and for the muzzle is 350 pounds.
Ghanem pointed out that the branch will continue to distribute funds to farmers who wish to hand over their crops to the institution through agricultural associations.
The Directorate of Agriculture in As-Suwayda initially estimated the governorate's total production of apples for the current season at 45,530 tons.
