In detail, the pandemic cost more than 70 billion euros in exceptional spending in 2020, and more than 70 billion in spending in 2021, he said.

Pay off the debt linked to the crisis

We estimate that the Covid debt is around 165 billion euros.
But above all, this has resulted in a significant deficit of over 9% in 2020 and 8.4% in 2021,

The government presented, Wednesday, its draft budget for 2022. According to Bercy forecasts, the public deficit should drop from 9.2% of GDP in 2020 to 8.4% this year, then 4.8% in 2022.
