The tension rises: On October 1st, the cultural autumn begins with great artists.

Everything is ready on the spot.

Geretsried

- The final spurt is underway: there are only a few days left until the opening of the Geretsried cultural autumn.

Everything is ready on the fairground on Jahnstrasse: the large circus tent in which the main acts will take place, the smaller red pavilion for performances by regional artists and a dozen stalls for suppliers of handicrafts and food.

On Wednesday, the site will be fenced off because the 3G rule applies to visitors.

Fortunately, reports the artistic director of the event, Günter Wagner, twelve more have joined the initially only four registered artisans.

“The colorful art market has become a veritable market and is definitely worth a visit.” According to Anita Zwicknagl from the city's cultural office, the selection ranges from jewelry to woolen textiles, painted birdhouses, wooden articles and leather goods to paper art.

As reported, the various Geretsrieder country teams provide food and drinks with specialties from their homeland.

In addition, Traunsteiner beer and non-alcoholic beverages are served.

At the South Sea bar you can enjoy wines, sparkling wine, prosecco and various cocktails.

The vernissage of Karl Nik Voik's painting exhibition will take place on Thursday, September 30th, starting at 6 p.m. in the town hall. Stephan Zinner will also be performing at 6 pm with his “Raritäten” program in the Red Pavilion on Jahnstrasse. At 8 p.m. it continues in the culture tent with a Bohemian evening of Gartenberger bunker brass music. Entry to this opening concert is free. The colorful art market opens shortly beforehand.

On Friday, October 1st, the top-class cultural autumn program starts in the main tent. According to Günter Wagner, only the evening with the South Tyrolean musician Herbert Pixner and band on October 3rd has been sold out so far. For all other events there are still tickets online (www.kulturherbst-geretsried.de) or, somewhat more expensive, at the box office. However, it will be tight at the Queen's evening on October 4th and the Spider Murphy Gang on October 6th. Wagner's insider tip is Annett Louisan with band on October 10th as the voice of German-language chanson. At the end of March this year, the artist released her long-awaited new album "Kleine Große Liebe", from which she will sing. “In Munich, Louisan is always completely sold out - and tickets there cost more than here,” Wagner advertises.

The entertainment program in the Red Pavilion, run by the Isar-Loisach Cultural Association (KIL), has changed slightly in some details.

The program items can be seen on the Kulturherbst page, for example the jazz concert with the music school on October 2nd or a performance by the rock'n'roll group “The Bonny Tones” on October 9th.

Entry to the Red Pavilion is free.

Outside the festival area, readings, film lectures, an afternoon for senior citizens and a Young Music Night take place in the town hall, in the city library, in the Petruskirche and in the Juice Shop youth center.

Here, too, admission is free.

Co-organizer Ingrid Hammerschmied is pleased that she was able to engage 20 volunteers every day to help out as stewards or at the tills.

Professional security also ensures the safety of visitors.

As reported, the BRK will set up a test tent.

There, visitors to the autumn of culture can have themselves tested for Corona free of charge before the events.

Anyone who has not been vaccinated or recovered must show a negative result.

The test station will be manned from around 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., so that you can be tested for the next day in the late evening.

"I am satisfied with the ticket sales," says Günter Wagner.

Things are going well for the fact that advance sales had to be suspended for almost three months due to the uncertain infection situation.

The festival organizer is looking forward to "many spontaneous people who can still get tickets in advance or at the box office".
