Sit-ins and roadblocks were renewed in some Lebanese regions today, in protest against the deteriorating economic and living conditions.
The Lebanese National News Agency stated that a number of people carried out a sit-in tonight in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, in protest against the difficult economic conditions, amid a heavy deployment of the Lebanese army and internal security forces.
Protesters also closed the western lane of the Zouk Mosbeh highway linking the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and the north, causing a stifling traffic jam amid the spread of Lebanese army units.
