Following the federal elections in Germany on Sunday, neither of the two main parties garnered enough support to form a government.

In an interview with Maria Alejandra Requena, Damaso Morales, professor of international relations at UNAM, explains that "tough political negotiations are expected" since the two parties, the Green and the Liberals, "do not agree much on their agenda."

In Germany there is no law specifying how long it takes to form a government.
