Bockhorn - Of 3,282 eligible voters, 2,147 took part in the referendum - a turnout of 65.5 percent. 1483 of them voted against the suggestion of the local citizens' initiative, 647 expressed their mast protest with a “yes”. Mayor Lorenz Angermaier said on Monday: “On the one hand, I have a good feeling that we are finally making progress in a project that serves modern communication.
For us in the town hall, however, this mast is not a dream project, rather a means to an end.
In the community, the construction of the mast in the industrial park will not affect everyone in the same way, some live very close, others again far away - naturally the emotions are also very different and understandable Breaking masts in two.
“Therefore I am making an offer of peace to everyone: We should come together again, despite all factual dissent.

When asked about how to proceed, Angermaier, who is also chairman of the Erding-Ost water association, explains: “As discussed and approved in the most recent association meeting, I will sign the contract between the association and Telekom as soon as possible.
Telekom will then submit a building application for the mast, which we will then have to deal with in the local council. "
Heinz Schoder, head of administration, also viewed the result with relief. “It is a clear vote of the citizens for a cell tower. Obviously people see that we in the community have a deficit in terms of supply and now want a quick solution. ”Even if the mast was built in the Mauggen industrial park, that could not be the only solution: Bockhorn with its large community area 48 square kilometers and a sometimes difficult topography will need several masts. “Telekom has already opened a so-called search circle for the south-eastern part of the municipality, from which Maierklopfen could also benefit. Finally, Grünbach has already been supplied with a total of three masts, one of which is in the forest in the direction of Großhündlbach, ”reports Schoder.
A radio mast in Kirchasch is more specific.
On the site of Hubert Strasser, construction is to take place soon, “maybe even as early as 2022 and about 25 meters high”, as the local council (Kirchasch citizen list with surroundings) announces upon request.
“First I wanted to wait for the referendum's vote and will now press ahead with negotiations with the operator Vodafone, with whom I have been in contact for six years.

As expected, the Bockhorn citizens' initiative is disappointed with the outcome of the decision. She would have preferred an alternative location on the edge of the forest between Mauggen and Kirchasch. But her spokesman Martin Mair from Mauggen also puts it into perspective: “After all, the voter turnout was very high at 65.4 percent, which gives us a clear signal that this topic is important to the people. With a referendum and referendum, we started a project that we knew very well that it could fail. But we are democrats and accept the result, even if in future I will probably be annoyed about a high mast every time I travel towards Bockhorn. "
In order for a referendum to come about at all, a referendum was necessary beforehand.
As reported, the initiative had collected over 520 signatures in the community for its project and then applied for a decision.
In this case, over 50 percent, i.e. the majority, would have had to vote for the initiative to get through with its project.
The results of the voting districts are interesting, namely the two without postal voting: In the north-west (Bockhorn / Grünbach) area 78.2 percent voted against the initiative, in the south-east (Kirchasch / Maierklopfen) "only" 59.0 percent .
However, the vast majority of voters cast their votes by postal vote (1013, or 70 percent).
