The health protocol will be relaxed "in ten departments", the Minister of Education announced on Tuesday: if a student is positive, only those in his class who also test positive will be sent home.

Towards a new modification of the sanitary protocol?

This Tuesday, September 28, the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer announced on franceinfo that an experiment would be carried out in schools in

“around ten departments”,

thus taking into account a new opinion from the Scientific Council and the Guidance advice on the vaccination strategy.

If a student tests positive for Covid-19, all of their classmates will be tested, and only those who in turn test positive will have to self-isolate at home, while the others will return to class.

Children who are not tested following a refusal by their parents will be considered positive and therefore sent home.

This experiment will begin

"from the beginning of next week"

.

"We are hard at work with the Ministry of Health,"

said the Minister, who stressed that this experiment will be carried out in

"a dozen different departments, in order to be able to compare"

, without further details on the territories concerned. .

End of the primary mask in certain territories

Since the start of the school year, the rule is that first-degree classes close completely to the first confirmed case of Covid-19.

In the second level, only non-vaccinated students should isolate themselves, while their vaccinated classmates continue to follow their lessons normally.

In recent days, the executive seems to want to loosen the grip on the improvement of the health situation.

On September 22, following a Health Defense Council, government spokesperson Gabriel Attal announced that from October 4, the obligation to wear a mask would be lifted in schools in the departments where the incidence rate would be stabilized under the bar of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

"We will give the precise list [of the departments concerned] on Thursday for entry into force on Monday"

, but

"the order of magnitude would be between a third and half of the departments"

, cautiously advanced Jean-Michel Blanquer on Tuesday, September 28.
