Election results from all German constituencies and municipalities on an interactive map - that is our goal for the federal election.

Since Sunday evening you will find continuously new figures and data here.

The Bundestag has its seat in Berlin - but September 26th was elected everywhere in the republic.

The voters cast their votes in Altötting, Neumünster, Altenahr and Langensalza and around 11,000 other German municipalities.

That is why we started the “Local Bundestag Election” project - and from election evening of the 2021 Bundestag elections * we will not only display all 299 constituency results on an interactive map.

Since then, we have also invested time in mapping the results for the cities and municipalities in Germany step by step.

What you will find here on election evening:

- All 299 German

constituency

results after counting (there were delays in some cases).

-

11,000 German municipalities

: New results from first and second votes continuously from Sunday.

-

Interactive map

: all data, figures, facts in one place

- completeness is our vision. In individual municipalities and federal states, however, results could be integrated late or not at all. This applies despite a high level of automation and additional manual recording, as there are several dozen different data sources.

Since the election results from the roughly 11,000 German municipalities in the 2021 federal election are nowhere bundled or even uniform, we have been running an elaborate data journalism project since the evening of the election.

Our mission: Everyone should be able to access results from all over Germany in an exciting and easy way during the week.

In this article you will find an interactive result map.

Our

interactive Bundestag election map

offers: Results at the level of the municipalities and constituencies, first and second votes, search function and much more.

The result card is already included in the article.

In general, please be patient if the loading time should be a little longer due to the expected enormous demand.

Federal election 2021: Interactive result map

We obtain all result data from official bodies - from municipalities, districts, federal states and the federal returning officer.

We integrate these into a uniform database so that you will always find the latest final results recorded by us from all over Germany.

Since not all German municipalities transmit complete or current results, we also research results manually.

The aim is for you to receive a comprehensive picture of the federal elections in the German regions from election evening and the following days.

You can find more information about our data sources in the info box at the end of the article.

In the past, we have put a lot of effort into collecting and processing tens of thousands of election results from various sources for you. Merkur.de was the only medium in the local elections in Bavaria that was able to offer election results from all 2056 Bavarian municipalities. We also delivered a large number of local community results in the 2017 federal elections. Behind this is the democratic mandate and the journalistic goal of making politics and elections in Germany as transparent and understandable as possible for you.

Questions and Answers: Results of the Federal Parliament Election 2021

QUESTION: I can't find my constituency result?

In the first hours after the election there were unfortunately delays in integrating the constituencies. This was then subsequently integrated step by step. We ask for your understanding.

QUESTION: Are the results displayed with or without postal votes?

The federal states and municipalities do not proceed in a uniform manner when it comes to internal reporting. You will therefore find a note with every election result as to whether it was with or without postal votes - or whether the authority did not provide any information.

QUESTION: How quickly can the results for constituencies and municipalities be expected?

Constituencies appear immediately after they have been counted and communicated by the election officer. For cities and municipalities, we have to record 11,000 units in a variety of ways, which is why this time-consuming process will not be completed on election Sunday.

QUESTION: Why is the interactive map not displayed on my computer?

You may be using an ad blocker such as UBlockOrigin, which occasionally incorrectly classifies interactive elements on web pages as advertisements. Please deactivate the ad blocker for at least this article. If this does not help, you may be using a browser that is no longer supported - such as Internet Explorer 11 or Apple iOS 9 or earlier. In this case, please use a different browser or device or update your system. .

QUESTION: What do I do if I find a result incorrect?

Errors can never be completely ruled out in such a complex data project.

In this case, we look forward to a short e-mail on the evening of the election to datenteam@zentralredaktion.news.

We will look at your concerns in a timely manner.

Transparency: Our data, sources and methods

All election results and data on the interactive map come from official sources.

We integrate them technically, standardize them and prepare them for you in the most accessible form possible.

Depending on the municipality or federal state, we use a range of different data accesses for this.

These include the official interface of the Federal Returning Officer, the interfaces and file offers of the 16 federal states, result websites of individual municipalities, Votemanager and Elect data offers and others.

In some cases we also research the results directly on site - for example, if a municipality does not offer digital data delivery.

However, despite all our efforts, we cannot maintain a claim to completeness, as in some federal states no digital data is available on a large scale.
