According to police reports, witnesses observed how the single-engine propeller plane of the type "Breezer C" lost significantly in height near the municipality of Wald and finally fell into the forest.

Parts of the wreckage got stuck in a tree at a height of a few meters.

The emergency services immediately alerted, including the rescue service and the volunteer fire brigades from Wald, Seeg and Marktoberdorf, found the aircraft severely deformed.

They recovered two seriously injured men from the wreck.

A 65-year-old died on site despite immediate attempts at resuscitation.

The second man, 53, was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

According to the police, there is no mortal danger for him according to the current status.



Police officers cordoned off a large area of ​​the crash site.

The criminal police took over the first investigation, a representative of the Kempten public prosecutor was also on site.

At his request, an expert was called in to clarify the cause of the crash.

Another expert from the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation was also on duty.

According to the investigators, there are currently no indications of the cause of the crash.



The Kempten Criminal Police Inspectorate under the direction of the Kempten Public Prosecutor's Office takes over the further investigations.
