Investigators apparently raided SPD politicians in Hamburg.

Hamburg - Two days after the federal election *, the SPD is caught up with the Cum-Ex scandal.
According to media reports, there is a raid against several politicians in Hamburg.
According to information from “WDR investigative”, this should include Johannes Kahrs.
He is considered a long-time confidante of SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz *.
For the SPD, Kahrs sat in the German Bundestag from 1998 to 2020.

The accusation in the direction of Kahrs and, according to the

also of the former Hamburg Interior Senator and SPD member of the Bundestag Alfons Pawelczy: aiding and abetting tax evasion in the Cum-Ex scandal. The public prosecutor's office in Cologne confirmed to the
Handelsblatt
that it had "secured documents relevant to evidence and communications relevant to evidence".
The raid is about alleged crooked business around the Warburg Bank.
The SPD politicians are said to have helped the Hamburg private bank to avoid the Hamburg tax authorities reclaiming over 47 million euros in tax money from illegal cum-ex deals.
Scholz was first mayor of Hamburg at the time in question.
He denies being involved in the matter but has already had to testify in the investigative committee.
