"We believe that something has exploded, which is not a natural consequence," said police spokesman Thomas Fuxborg in the morning on site.
It is probably something that has been placed in the place, but that has to be seen first.
The police opened preliminary investigations into general destruction.
There were initially no suspects.
Because of the numerous deliberately caused detonations in Sweden in recent years, there is already speculation among the public about a connection with the gang milieu.
The broadcaster SVT initially reported, citing the operations manager, that the explosion had occurred in the courtyard of the apartment building.
As a result, fires started in several staircases.

“Then I got dressed and got up.
I opened the door to the stairwell, but there was no way out, it was completely smoky, ”he said.
He could still get out through a back door.
There he saw many neighbors standing on their balconies because they could not go through the stairwell.
“One of my neighbors jumped.
I tried to help him, but he was hurt.
Another neighbor lifted his six year old down to me.
Then we helped the father. ”No one had received any information about what had happened, Wolmsjö continues.

Gothenburg - In the Swedish city of Gothenburg, a major explosion occurred in an apartment building in the Annedal district.
According to the police, there are allegedly several seriously injured people.
Subsequently, there should have been a fire.

According to radio broadcaster SVT and other Swedish media, 23 people were taken to the hospital, five of them by ambulance and 18 by buses.
Most are said to have only sustained minor injuries, but some also suffered severe ones.
Hundreds of people had been evacuated, some jumped out of the windows of the building, said the chief of operations of the rescue workers.
The fire is not yet under control.
An SVT reporter reported on site that more than three hours after the explosion, strong smoke was coming out of the house.
