Today, the theater of the House of Culture in Homs was shown the dicodrama movie “Journey 17”, produced by the General Film Organization and directed by Ali Al-Maghout, in the presence of a large audience, the work makers and a number of the real heroes of the film from the officers of the Syrian Arab Army.
The film narrates real, real events that occurred in 2013 in the Electronic Warfare Battalion of the 17th Division in Raqqa Governorate, embodying a realistic picture of the heroism and sacrifices that the soldiers of this battalion experienced during the period of the siege imposed by the Takfiri terrorist organizations.
In a statement to SANA, director Al-Maghout indicated that the film is a documentary case of our valiant army, and it tells of realistic humanitarian cases that took place between the officers and members of this fighting unit, and through it we learn about the depths of the Syrian soldier and his humanitarian conditions, how he can think, his sensory condition, and his quest to break the siege with a departure from the traditional framework of war films It included surrealism in some scenes through the artist soldier, who let his imagination run wild until he was martyred.
Al-Maghout pointed out that some scenes were projected onto international paintings, “The Last Supper,” indicating the sanctity of the officers and the new birth of the martyr.
In turn, the artist, "Tariq Nakhleh", who played the role of the presenter Mohamed Hammoud, said: We started preparing for the film a year and a half ago, and we made great efforts in it, and I find it the first real cinematic experience for me because it is an honest case free of forgery and most of its dialogues are real.
Among the audience was Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammed Hammoud, one of the heroes of the Electronic Warfare Battalion, who indicated that the film showed the reality of what happened with the fighters of this unit, pointing out that the director and actors excelled in embodying the characters honestly with the smallest details.
In turn, the presenter "Shadi Ahmed", whose character was embodied by the actor "Karam Shaarani", praised the interaction of the large audience with the film in all governorates and the importance of this type of cinematography in documenting the heroism and achievements of the Syrian Arab Army in various Syrian regions.
A number of attendees indicated that the film succeeded in highlighting an important period whose stars were the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army who persevered in Raqqa, especially that the journey to rescue the officers in cooperation with the honorable people of Raqqa was full of events and documented by real people, their families and colleagues, which is a distinctive and important type of film that preserves important events in the memory.
