With the participation of a number of civil societies and individual initiatives, the “Peacemakers” Association concluded a few days before the Carnival “A Word and a Story” as part of the “Connect with Peace” campaign, which was held in Al-Orouba Park in Lattakia to celebrate the International Peace Day after the campaign witnessed a wide participation of young people and adolescents in its various events and activities.

The 4-day event, according to the volunteer, Dania Zeidan, the campaign coordinator, included 17 platforms for NGOs and individual initiatives in an exhibition of products and handicrafts, interactive and recreational activities, artistic performances, open spaces for children's games, and heritage competitions for adolescents and youth.

Zidan pointed out to SANA Youth that the names of the sections hosted by the carnival were inspired by the ancient heritage and the songs of Fayrouz, where the exhibition of handicrafts carried the title “Al Bosta”, the buffet “Karam Al Alali” and the heritage section “Al-Mijana”, while the name of the artistic evening was your resonant oud and the games section, Fly, Fly The carnival was accompanied by a campaign to donate books and sell them at nominal prices, the proceeds of which go to the Farah Association to Support Children with Cancer.

Volunteer Rawan Al-Issa, coordinator of the Programs Unit at the Peacemakers Association, indicated that the carnival's title reflected the state of harmony and love, which is the essence of these civil activities in a manner that serves the primary goal of strengthening community cohesion.

Heba Marei, supervisor in the Bashayer Al-Nour Association, responsible for the “Irada” section, expressed her happiness at participating in the carnival, which helped shed light on the efforts made to empower autistic children, indicating that their exhibits included accessories, embroideries, laurel soap and candles for about 15 adolescents.

A number of visitors confirmed that the coincidence of the carnival with the weekend gave the parents the opportunity to spend quality time with their children in a safe place with many options for play and entertainment.
