This has been notified by their lawyers, Gonzalo Boye and Agostinangelo Marras, who reported that the court has decided to stop the procedure until it knows whether the General Court of the European Union will restore Puigdemont's immunity as a MEP and until a response from the Court is defined. of Justice of the European Union to the preliminary rulings presented by the Supreme Court of Spain regarding the scope of the arrest warrant and formalized delivery against the former president.

Puigdemont was arrested on September 23 on the island of Sardinia after landing in Alghero, where he traveled to participate in a cultural festival.

The arrest was carried out by the Italian border police based on the arrest and surrender order issued by the Supreme Court of Spain.
