The star Abbas Al-Nouri appeared to the audience this evening in an open dialogue at Al-Riwaq Al-Arabi Club in a cultural evening within the activities of Al-Riwaq organized by the Syrian Plastic Artists Union.
During the evening, the artist Al-Nouri was honored by the Union for his entire rich and distinguished artistic career. Then a film was shown that narrates his life and artistic career from the beginnings and his work on television and cinema until the present time, passing through the most important works he presented, the characters he played and key joints in his life.
The dialogue evening, directed and prepared by the media, Mulham Al-Saleh, was attended by a crowd of artists, directors, writers, plastic artists, media professionals and those interested.
The symposium included an open dialogue in which the artist Al-Nouri talked about the stations of his artistic life and his personal experience in Syrian cinema and his artistic career in general, starting with the university theater, pointing out that the conditions that Syria is going through negatively affected the artistic situation in it in general.
It is noteworthy that Al-Nouri was born in Al-Qaymariya neighborhood in Old Damascus in 1952. He graduated from the History Department of the Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences at the University of Damascus. His artistic journey started from the university theater and participated in performances collected by the playwrights Fawaz Al-Sager, Faisal Al-Yasiri, Khalil Tafesh, Samir Salmon, Mamdouh Adwan and Hassan Aweiti. His beginning in drama was with a quintet. “Samar” directed by Salim Sabry, bringing his balance today to 150 TV series and “5 cinematic films,” in addition to his experience of presenting programs and generosity in Syrian, Arab and international forums and festivals.
