Forensic analysis confirmed that the body found over the weekend in the city of Orlando, Florida, corresponds to Miya Marcano: the 19-year-old Latina who was last seen on September 24 and whose family is heartbroken after the news .
"The body of a woman recovered in a wooded area on October 2, 2021 has been identified as Miya Marcano,"
said Joshua Stephany, chief medical examiner for Orange and Osceola counties, in a statement Tuesday.

This case is currently under active police investigation
and any other requests for information, including the cause and manner of death, will be forwarded to the Orange County Sheriff's Office," he said.
Marcano was scheduled to take a flight out of the Fort Lauderdale airport the day he disappeared, but never did.

During the investigation, the authorities found the only person of interest named in the case, Armando Manuel Caballero, dead.
