The departments wish to learn the lessons of everything that we have experienced (health crisis and yellow vests, Editor's note) to ensure that we act better
", explained the president UDI (centrist) of the AdF, who has took office this summer following the departmental elections in June.
Starting from the observation "
that there is a despair among many French people who no longer believe in public action, including local
", Sauvadet intends to mobilize "
the 4500 departmental advisers of the 102 member departments of the AdF in order to have a debate with all the French in our cantons
”.
What role for the departments in French political life?

I asked all the departments to do this work, to look at what role we want to play in the French political life of tomorrow and how we can remove the brakes on action
", in order to define "
the role and the place that we want to occupy in a decentralized republic
, ”he explains.
At the end of these debates, which will focus on the dysfunctions and successes of recent years, 102 proposals will be presented during the “
Assises
” of the AdF, which will take place from December 1 to 3 in Bourg-en-Bresse, to which François Sauvadet wishes to invite the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron.

At the same time, the AdF wishes to carry out "

" with other associations of elected officials such as Regions of France and the Association of Mayors of France (AMF): "

The PS president of Régions de France, Carole Delga, who also took office this summer, announced in July her intention to publish a white paper on decentralization this fall.
