People usually like to raise pets such as dogs, cats or even birds, but there is a group of people who broke that rule, including the young Ahmed Mansour, from the village of Al-Dalia in the Jableh countryside, who was famous for raising and taming wild animals and rare and prey birds in his garden.

SANA’s camera visited the young man Mansour, who told his story with this hobby, saying: “When I went out hunting, I encountered small, lonely and lost birds or animals. I brought them home to feed and take care of them. I was able to keep a number of wild animals and birds, and with time, this matter turned into a hobby and formed a kind of The familiarity between me and these creatures for which I feel responsible.”

Mansour managed to raise a number of rare birds, such as owls, the Syrian eagle, the hawza, the hoopoe, the woodpecker, the peacock, the golden peacock, in addition to some wild animals such as the hyena, the Syrian wolf known as “Abu Okla jagual”, the gazelle and the hedgehog.

Regarding his experience with raising some wild animals, Mansour pointed out that he raised the Syrian wolf and the hedgehog, and no type of animal resisted him because, according to his opinion, “any animal can be tamed if you bring it young and take care of it,” stressing that he waits for the animals until they grow up to a certain extent and become able to adapt. With nature to come back and release it into the wild.

He pointed out that many wild animals are not hostile by nature, but they attack humans when they encroach on their areas due to a sense of danger and fear of the threat they may pose to them and their young, and therefore they must be protected and preserved from extinction.

And about the people’s reaction to that, Mansour said: “When I brought the wild camel, the people advised me to release it because it is harmful and it cannot be raised and tamed, but that posed a challenge for me and I decided to take care of it and feed it until it grew up and I succeeded in taming it as I raised the gazelle, which used to follow me and follow me wherever I go.”

Mansour added: “I do not think of selling any tamed bird or animal, because I feel responsible for it, although I received many offers and large sums of money in exchange for selling wild animals that were not tamed before. “.

It remains to be mentioned that raising such animals is a dangerous hobby because the natural environment for these animals and birds is reserves, mountains, forests and prairies.
