In 2020, the training and job fair in Penzberg could only take place digitally due to Corona.

And this year it had to be postponed twice due to the pandemic.

When it finally took place on Tuesday, there was great interest.

The organizers are satisfied.

Penzberg

- Shortly after the exhibition area opened at 12 noon, there was something like a crowd in the Penzberger Stadthalle. Whole groups of pupils from the various Penzberg schools as well as from the middle school Benediktbeuern and the Realschule Schlehdorf pushed their way from information stand to information stand during the fair to find out about possible training positions and their requirements from the various industries. The Rinner car dealership from Bad Tölz was among the various businesses in the trade, the care professions, authorities or public institutions. As employee Markus Haberer said, this is the first time that the company will be at the Penzberger Messe, because: "It is difficult to find skilled workers."in order to encourage young people to train, for example, to become a car mechatronics technician or car saleswoman. Haberer was satisfied with the interest shown by the young people. “There were already a lot of people at our stand.” Numerous registration forms for a trial internship were also submitted.

Exhibitor: "It is difficult to find skilled workers"

A little further on, Laura Hagerer stood behind the information stand of the main customs office in Rosenheim. Still, she said, the young people are “reluctant” when it comes to asking questions about the work of a customs officer. "But I am confident that it will get even better." According to Sabine Ostermann from the company "Neuorientierung 08/12", which organizes the training and job fair in cooperation with the city of Penzberg and the "Custom-fit" initiative organized by the Noah's Ark family center. Originally 60 companies were registered, but a few more were added spontaneously, said Ostermann, who was "absolutely satisfied" with the response to the training fair. Also the individual lectures that could be heard in the town hall and in the Rathauspassage,had been "very well attended".

Around 70 different companies from Penzberg and the region presented themselves

The keen interest of the youngsters was evident both in the well-frequented speed dating area on the upper floor of the town hall, where the first job interviews could be held in rapid succession, and in the large number of people gathered in the large hall;

for example at the stand of the Linde company.

The company had sent seven employees from its headquarters in Pullach to Penzberg in order to recruit “attractive workers”, as employee Lukas Wimmer admitted.

After the training fair, the job fair began at 6 p.m. The three-hour event is aimed at anyone looking for a new regional employer. Like the previous training fair, this fair was also divided into three parts and divided into lectures, a speed dating and an exhibitor area. On a wooden information board at the entrance to the town hall, visitors were able to find out about vacancies in advance, then have initial conversations with HR managers and, among other things, learn something about successful professional networking during lectures. Anyone who brought their application portfolio with them also received tips on how they could design these documents even better.

After the success of the event, Ostermann assumes that it will take place again in 2022.

In 2020, the fair could only take place online due to corona.
