The number of new corona infections in North Rhine-Westphalia continues to decline slightly.
In the past seven days, 51.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were reported to the authorities (previous day 51.5), as the Robert Koch Institute announced on Wednesday.
The value has been continuously decreasing in NRW since August 30th.
Nationwide, the value on Wednesday was significantly higher at 62.3 (Tuesday 63.6).
Düsseldorf - In NRW another 19 people died in connection with a corona infection.
The highest incidence in North Rhine-Westphalia was in Hagen (144.7) on Wednesday, while the Coesfeld district reported the lowest number with 15.4.
Children are still affected more than average by the pandemic: According to figures published on Wednesday by the NRW State Center for Health, the incidence value for 10 to 14-year-olds was 138.5 and thus more than twice as high as the nationwide value across all age groups.
The state center recorded an incidence value of 108.2 among five to nine year olds.
Even with children and adolescents, however, the values have been falling continuously since the end of August.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of new infections within a week per 100,000 inhabitants on Sunday was 73.6.
The so-called seven-day incidence has been falling in NRW for a few days.
On Saturday the value was 77.7, on Friday it was 81.8.

On Friday the value was 81.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, on Thursday it was 87.9.

Within the past seven days, the authorities became aware of 87.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants by Thursday, according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
On Wednesday the so-called seven-day incidence was 94.6, on Tuesday it was 99.4.
Eleven other people died in connection with a corona infection.

931 people suffering from Covid-19 were treated in the hospital in NRW on Wednesday, 327 of them in an intensive care unit.
Of these, 224 patients were ventilated, as the NRW Ministry of Health announced.
According to the figures in North Rhine-Westphalia, 493 intensive care beds with ventilation options were still available.
