The streaming giant has decided to cut some excerpts from its hit series • and not for the reasons you thought

Netflix has gone out of its way, and in an unusual move cut out a number of scenes from its current hit show "The Squid Game" (and not for the reasons you thought).

In the popular but sometimes difficult Korean series, people who are invited to play the "Game of Life and Death" in order to win millions of dollars, receive a business card.

The card contains a telephone number, to which the contestants are supposed to dial in order to be accepted into the competition.

The only problem is that these are real phone numbers of Korean citizens.

One of them told the Korean magazine "Money Today" that his phone has been ringing non-stop since the show became a hit.

"It got to the point where people call me day and night because they're curious, and it drains my battery and turns off the device," he said.

"At first I did not understand why this was happening. Then a friend of mine told me that my phone number appears in the series."

He claims that he received about 4,000 calls a day, and begged the streaming service that broadcasts the series to do something about it.

Netflix people listened to the allegations and began re-editing excerpts from the series, with the aim of preventing the harassment of innocent civilians.

"Together with the production team, we are working on solving the problem," a spokesman for the company told The Independent, "and that includes cutting scenes showing phone numbers, when needed."

Alongside this, Netflix has been sued by a South Korean internet provider, for due to its popularity it has brought a heavy load on its servers.

According to the network's data, the series is on its way to becoming the most successful and watched in its history.
