(CNN) -

Jamie Lee Curtis seems to believe strongly in natural beauty.

In an interview recently published by Fast Company, the "Halloween Kills" star shared her thoughts on plastic surgery and Hollywood's changing beauty standards.

"I tried plastic surgery and it didn't work. It got me addicted to Vicodin," Curtis said.

"Now I have been sober for 22 years."

"The current trend for fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filters, and the things we do to adjust our appearance in Zoom are wiping out generations of beauty," he added.

"Once you screw up your face, you can't get it back."

Curtis has talked about his journey to sobriety before.

In 2019, she appeared on Variety's “Recovery” issue and said she had had "routine surgery" after a cameraman said, "I'm not going to film her today. Her eyes are too swollen."

"I was so mortified and so ashamed and I was just so ashamed about it that after that movie, I went and had routine plastic surgery to remove the puffiness," said Curtis, who explained that he had had puffy eyes since childhood.

"They gave me Vicodin as a pain reliever for something that wasn't really painful."
