This year, too, the municipality does not follow its own sports funding guidelines.

And that's good news for Neufahrn's sports clubs.

Neufahrn -

Actually, the current sports

funding

guidelines stipulate that the municipality grants the local clubs a club fee in the same amount as the district pays the clubs on behalf of the Free State of Bavaria.

And that was exactly 29 cents per scoring point until 2019.

In other words: The clubs received a total of 58 cents.

Money that helps the associations and does not burden the community additionally

Last year, the Free State decided to double the grants for sports clubs due to the massive restrictions during the corona pandemic.

As a result, the finance committee of the municipality of Neufahrn decided in September 2020 with 10: 0 votes to choose a middle ground, so to speak.

And it looked like this: One would not completely withdraw from the subsidy with the argument that the clubs would now receive from the Free State only the amount they had received from the Free State and municipality before Corona.

But you will also not comply with the requirements of the sports funding guidelines and also pay out 58 cents per point.

Conclusion: You will continue to pay 29 cents, which helps the associations and does not burden the community.

Langwieser (CSU): The municipality also has to look at its finances

Now this regulation of the Free State also applies to the year 2021, which is why the finance committee had to deal again last Monday with the question of how much the municipality should support the sports clubs this year. And again they chose the middle ground by paying out 29 cents this year as well. Manfred Holzer (FW) emphasized that you have “a heart for sport”, but you also have to consider that the grants are voluntary services by the community. And that's why, as he went on, he would not have agreed to an increase in community funding to 58 cents, as the Neufahrner sports funding guidelines would actually provide. Frank Langwieser (CSU) also spoke out in favor of this compromise, after all, the community must also look at its finances.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

With a fairly clear 9: 0 votes, the grant of 29 cents per point was granted in the final vote.

It was also decided that, should the Free State stick to the regulation of 58 cents per point, the sports funding guidelines would be changed so that the municipal subsidy for sports clubs would in future be 50 percent of the Free State's funding.

Then one does not have to decide every year to deviate from the currently applicable regulation.

In the 2021 budget, 23,000 euros are provided for this subsidy for the clubs.
