Update from October 4, 5:55 p.m.:

The Bavarian state government has decided to further relax events - but they can only take effect if the organizers apply the 2G or 3G + rule (vaccinated, recovered, PCR-tested).

Then mask requirements, upper limits on the number of people, alcohol ban and the minimum distance requirement may fall.

The regulations apply from this Wednesday and can be used for example at cultural events, sporting events, congresses, in libraries and music schools.

However, they are purely voluntary for the organizers.

State Chancellery Chief Florian Herrmann (CSU) also referred to high fines for inadequate controls or non-compliance with requirements.

New corona easing: The press conference after the cabinet meeting for reading

Update, 5.45 p.m.:

It is important that the organizers can voluntarily switch to 3G + or 2G.

The press conference is now over.

Update, 5.43 p.m.:

Even the ban on alcohol at events could fall with the "3G + rule" or a "2G rule", according to Herrmann.

“The safest way is definitely 2G - but we don't want to force anyone to do it.” The ban on loud music and dancing in restaurants can also be lifted if 3G + or 2G is used there.

Herrmann also announced controls and fines for violations.

There should be no "shameful" with the new possibilities.

In the event of abuse, there will be high fines.

Corona in Bavaria: Herrmann announces new easing for events

Update, 5:37 p.m.:

Now the Minister of State comes to the new resolutions. He again mentions the easing that was decided on last week. This week one wants to introduce further facilities for events, said Herrmann. As with the discotheques, the 3G rule “plus” will apply. So vaccinated, recovered or tested by a PCR text. A 2G rule is also possible with immediate effect for events. As a result, the mask requirement and personal restrictions could then also fall. However, this is only possible with strict controls.

Update, 5:36 p.m.:

The incidence among the unvaccinated and vaccinated is still far apart. It is almost 200 for the unvaccinated and only 18 for the vaccinated. Herrmann appeals at this point once again to be vaccinated. "It is an act of solidarity". Vaccination is the only way to protect against serious illness.

Update, 5:32 p.m.:

The press conference begins.

Herrmann explains that the focus was on the corona situation.

Decisions have also been made, said Herrmann.

One could currently say that the infection process is stable.

“It doesn't rise worryingly, but it doesn't go down either,” says Herrmann.

The incidence increased slightly compared to last week in Bavaria.

The hospital traffic lights are still “completely” green.

Update from October 4, 5:26 p.m.:

The press conference will begin in a few minutes after the cabinet meeting.

Florian Herrmann will inform about the results.

Munich - After a cabinet meeting on Thursday (September 30), Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) announced far-reaching easing for the Free State.

On the one hand, he confirmed that the clubs and discos in Bavaria will be allowed to reopen from October.

The first party weekend was largely calm.

Corona precautions in Bavaria: Cabinet deals with the consequences of the pandemic

In addition, as of today (October 4th), students and teachers no longer have to wear a mask in class.

Opinions on the repeal of this regulation differ widely.

Experts have been arguing about it for days.

However, the Realschullehrerverband believes that the abolition of the mask requirement in class is the right step.

However, one must find clear regulations for the 3 rule in the school building.

The Bavarian cabinet meets again today.

It is not known in advance what exactly the ministers will discuss at the meeting.

The cabinet will meet by video at 4 p.m. and deal with the consequences of the corona pandemic, according to a statement from the State Chancellery.

Minister of State Florian Herrmann (CSU) informs about the results of the consultation in a subsequent press conference.
