The thefts are back in the excavations of Pompeii where the staff of the Superintendence of the Archaeological Park found that unknown persons, between 30 September and 4 October last, stole a circular marble manhole cover with a diameter of 20 centimeters that was located at the interior of the "Domus di Sirico" (located at Regio VII, insula 1, street number 25, room 24).
It is, as the Superintendence pointed out, an area accessible to the public and recently affected by restoration works.
Investigations are underway on the incident by the Carabinieri of the Pompeii Station.
