Spain has agreed to give a third booster dose of the US coronavirus vaccines Pfizer and Moderna to its citizens over the age of 70.
Reuters quoted the Spanish Ministry of Health as saying in a statement, "Spain gave the vaccine in its entirety to about 78 percent of the population, and approved a booster dose six months after receiving the second dose, and the authorities will start giving the booster doses at the end of October."
Madrid has already allowed booster doses for cancer patients, nursing home residents and other at-risk groups.
