Are schoolchildren allowed to take off the masks in class after the autumn break?
Education Minister Piwarz is thinking about it - but those affected, of all people, are not very enthusiastic.
Dresden - The State School Council of Saxony is against the plans of Minister of Education Christian Piwarz (CDU) to abolish the mask requirement in class after the autumn break if necessary.
"In the student body, we largely agree: we'd rather put on masks in class and be safe from Corona than be taught at home," said Oliver Sachsze, the deputy chairman of the state student council.
Of course, there are a few students who would rather sit in class without a mask.
"The majority have come to terms with it, I have already said that to Mr. Piwarz."
Saxony's minister of education announced last Friday that he was considering an end to the mask requirement in class.
If the incidence is over 35, a mask would have to be worn in the school building.
A decision by the cabinet is still pending.
Student representative Sachsze said that the current number of corona cases was increasing again.
"We have always spoken out in favor of taking as many security measures as possible to keep the schools open - whether these are air filters, tests or masks." The main thing is that the risk of infection remains as low as possible.
