On the 20th anniversary of the assassination, a special plenary session will be held today (Wednesday) in the Knesset in memory of Rehavam Zeevi (Gandhi).
This time, too, the left-wing parties intend to boycott the debate in his memory.
Meretz officials have announced that they will boycott the debate, as they do every year, even though this time they are government ministers with a more state-owned position.
Although the Labor Party claimed that "boycott is too hard a word", they also do not intend to come to the discussion.
A party source said: "There is no official decision, I guess most of us or even all of us will not enter the plenum."
Former Meretz chairwoman Zehava Gal-On wrote on her Twitter account: "It is time for the Knesset to repeal the law to commemorate Ze'evi's 'heritage.'
At the time, we submitted such a bill, which unfortunately did not pass. "
"After an 'fact' investigation and the evidence that followed, after Zeevi's victims and those who witnessed his horrific acts said the things, it's just a shame to continue the commemoration festival to portray Gandhi as a national hero," she added.
Recall that in 2016 an investigation was aired on the "Fact" program that allegedly reveals harsh evidence against Gandhi for sexual harassment he has committed over the years.
The investigation caused a great stir and Gandhi's family tried to prevent it from being broadcast.
