The President of Uzbekistan, Shabket Mirzeyev, yesterday (Tuesday) hosted his Turkmen counterpart, Gurbangoli Berdymukhammedov, in the capital Tashkent.
During the visit, the two stressed: "We are committed to helping the citizens of Afghanistan."
That is, they support the reconstruction of Afghanistan under the leadership of the Taliban.
"Regional security and stability are highly dependent on developments in Afghanistan," Mirzeyev said at a joint news conference.
"We are ready to assist the citizens of Afghanistan for the restoration of peace and stability in their country."
Berdymukhammedov added that "the two countries share the same positions regarding Afghanistan."
At the same time, during the visit of Berdymukhammedov - the leader of one of the most closed countries in the world - an official reception was held for him, as well as a ceremony for the laying of wreaths at the monument to the first Uzbek President Islam Karimov, who passed away in 2016.

Meanwhile, the President of Uzbekistan spoke by telephone yesterday with his Tajik counterpart Amumali Rahmon.
The reason for the conversation, apparently, was wishes on the occasion of Rahmon's birthday - but it is quite clear that Afghanistan took a central place in the conversation between the two.
This is because Tajikistan is Afghanistan's only neighbor that does not accept the Taliban's takeover of the country.
Following this, the Taliban tried to send a message to Dushanbe with the deployment of a suicide battalion for the purpose of "securing the border between the countries."
