A fire broke out today (Thursday) in seven centers in the Jerusalem mountains, in the Begin Park area.

Police raised the suspicion that it was an arson, and at the end of searches in the area, a woman in her 30s, a Hasmonean resident who was declared missing at risk, was arrested on suspicion of setting the fires.



Police and firefighters who arrived at the scene, began operations to extinguish and take over the fire stations, with the air assistance of a police helicopter and firefighting aircraft from the police air unit.

At this stage, the fire has not yet been brought under control, but there is no danger to the residents.

About two months ago, a huge fire broke out in the Jerusalem area, in which about 25,000 dunams caught fire within 52 hours, until it was brought under control by firefighters.

In doing so, the fire became the largest in the history of the country.

Ten localities were evacuated during the fire: Tzova, Givat Ya'arim, Shoeva, Ramat Raziel, Eitanim, Beit Meir, Shoresh, Ein Rafa, Ein Kerem and Ein Nakuba.
