- With this, the municipality also wants to come a little closer to its self-imposed goal of climate neutrality.

This orientation could most recently be read in the council from a decision on four municipal residential buildings at Cramer-Klett-Strasse 34 and 36 as well as at Siegfriedstrasse 1a and 1b.

The properties there were all built in 1953 and, especially in terms of energy, are clearly getting on in years.

The expertise of the Munich Land construction company resulted in an extensive renovation program.

In addition, two new residential buildings are to be built east of the property.

The local council has now agreed on this with a large majority.

Four variants

On behalf of the municipality, the architecture office Allmann Sattler Wappner had developed four variants for the area. The four properties on Cramer-Klettstrasse and Siegfriedstrasse play an important role in the municipal housing portfolio. The stock of 26 apartments is now not only to be comprehensively renovated and expanded by two residential units in a different layout. In addition, six new apartments (3 to 6 rooms) of different sizes are to be built in two new residential buildings. With “Scenario 1.2”, the Council followed the “preferred variant” of the administration with a clear majority of 15: 6 votes. In addition to the increase in living space and residential units, the variant, according to the majority opinion of the councils, was also characterized by the clear emphasis on important play and leisure opportunities. So the popular “pirate playground” north of the property and south of Brunhildenstrasse can remain unchanged according to the agreed stipulations. In addition, the building ensemble, which is now to be expanded, is to be upgraded with additional leisure areas for the residents.

No new parking space

According to the model that has been adopted, there is also no need to seal a new parking space on the surface.

All of the new parking spaces due due to the expansion are to be created in the underground car park.

The architect Carolin Krebber, who was commissioned with the preliminary planning, emphasized further advantages.

So far, the area has been "loosely built up" compared to the surrounding area and allows for densification.

In addition, the area is well connected to local public transport with a “bus stop on the doorstep”.

Due to the housing pressure in the community, some councils wanted even more prioritization of the residential development - also to the disadvantage of the playground - and favored other variants. SPD parliamentary group spokeswoman Elisabeth Gerner had demanded “as much inexpensive living space as possible” - in close collaboration with FW parliamentary group leader Reiner Höcherl. These two groups therefore voted against the vote. It wasn't enough for the majority. Hartmut Lilge (CSU), on the other hand, hit their nerve with his assessment of “moderate and measured” redensification in order to preserve the local garden city character.

The administration around building authority chief Christian Einzmann emphasized the successful approach of this variant with a proper mix of new living space, preservation and improvement of the existing living quality and the preservation of the play areas.

If more living space is needed in the future, "it can always be expanded in the future", said Neubiberg's mayor Thomas Pardeller (CSU).
