Regensburg - Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis from the Regensburg * noble family can now fly wherever she wants.

The 61-year-old, whose mother recently passed away, got her pilot's license for single-engine machines.

“I just wanted to do something new,” she said in an interview with

She practiced at the airfields in Straubing * and in Salzburg.

However, the corona pandemic overturned their schedule.

The princess took her first flying lessons years ago.

The practice that many have now finally paid off.

“It was worth it.

Passed it! ”She said happily.  

Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis is now making her flight license at the age of 61

She has a lot of fun flying.

She especially liked the landing, she added.

They are only afraid sometimes “when it rumbles”.

The princess wants to do her rounds in the air in her Bavarian homeland.

But she also wants to explore all of Europe and her favorite place Kenya, where she owns a beach house, from above.

But she doesn't want to get her own plane.

She doesn't use it enough for that.
