Minister of Industry Ziad Sabbagh was briefed today, during a tour in the city of Aleppo, on the stages and reality of the rehabilitation work in the Arab Company for Cement and Building Materials in Sheikh Saeed, the iron smelting facility in the Ramousah area, and the factories that were rehabilitated in the Al-Layramoun industrial area.

In a statement to reporters, Minister Sabbagh said that the tour aims to review the work stages completed in the Arab Company for Cement and Building Materials, which started since last September, pointing out that the partnership contract that was implemented with the private sector confirms the government's endeavor to restart public sector facilities in accordance with the terms and conditions. specific.

Sabbagh indicated that the Ministry of Industry, in coordination with various ministries, sought to provide support to all craftsmen and industrialists in the city of Aleppo to recycle the production wheel, stressing the industrialists’ insistence on restoring and maintaining their facilities that were destroyed as a result of terrorism to restore life to the Aleppo industry, especially the textile industry.

Eng. Ahmed Dayeh, director of the Arab Company for Cement and Building Materials, pointed out that the company was put into a joint investment with the Nabd Investment Company, and the rehabilitation work of the production buildings was started, so that the necessary maintenance for its subdivisions would later be carried out, a new production line would be added, and its production capacity would be raised to one million and 15 tons annually. .

Engineer Muhammad Al-Saleh, director of the Aleppo Electricity Company, explained that six transformational centers were rehabilitated in the Ramousah area, where more than 1,200 craft facilities were put into service after feeding them with electric power, thus securing about five thousand job opportunities for the young generation, pointing to the importance of the Ramousah industrial area because it is characterized by the nature of External export due to the presence of a number of industries, including leather tanning and manufacturing of auto spare parts.

Mustafa Kawaih, owner of the ironing factory for fabrics, pointed out that 143 industrial and artisanal establishments have returned to work in the Al-Layramoun area, where the production capacity of the factory is 50 percent due to the lack of threads and their import, in addition to the high prices, calling for stopping the import of foreign fabrics to encourage the local industry.

During the meeting of the Minister of Industry with a number of representatives of the garment, knitted, yarn and dye industries in the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, the attendees demanded the cancellation of the second item of the decision to import knitted fabrics, support the local industry, and provide them with incentives from electric power carriers.

Engineer Fares Al-Shihabi, head of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry, stressed the demand of industrialists to rely on locally produced fabric or to be imported within specific controls, pointing out the need for the clothing industry to be a locomotive for the textile industry and manufactured with local hands and expertise in order to restore the Aleppo industry to its splendor.
