Miesbach - The Miesbach Museum Association with its current 118 members is at a crossroads: should we continue or stop?

Because the desired museum has moved a long way off with the conversion of the monastery into a children's home that has now begun.

That is why fundamental questions were the focus of the general meeting of the association on Monday evening in the Bräuwirt.

And certain signs of disintegration were clearly visible.

The election of a new board of directors was on the brink of the majority of the nearly two and a half hour meeting.

Four members did not want to compete for various private reasons, but the club could not find a replacement for them.

At first the plan was that the management team should continue provisionally until the next general meeting in March 2022, but there were concerns about association law in the course of the discharge.

So chairman Johannes Schlichting and treasurer Annika Bier were persuaded to continue for the last two years.

Second chairman Konrad Tradler and secretary Andreas Schmidt were confirmed in office as they were.

Carl Langheiter, Peter Lämmer and Andreas Kempf now act as assessors, Bernhard Heidl and ex-assessor Bernt Horeth, who replaces Paul Hirschauer, who has moved away, are the auditors.

Carefully formulated criticism of the city

For original member Peter Rosner, the tough occupation of the board positions was reason enough to follow up critically, as it shows a decreasing motivation.

“I try to dress it in cautious words,” he said, looking at Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller next to him, “but we didn't feel so encouraged by the city.” For a long time, there was such a “great disappointment”.

The idea was to support the city in setting up a museum, “but we often felt guided through the city by the nose ring.

That was bitter.

That demotivated. "

Rosner was concerned with the question of how to proceed - also with regard to the association's assets, which amount to over 50,000 euros for museum support.

Rosner to applause: "I ask for motivating sentences from the mayor."

Mayor outlines the procedure

Braunmiller, who has been a member of the association since 2010 and was ultimately confronted with displeasure with his predecessor Ingrid Pongratz, referred to his plans to modernize the depot in the fire station and equip it properly.

After this almost one million euro project had not found approval in the city council (we reported), alternative locations are now being sought.

Nevertheless, he emphasized: "I see my responsibility to take care of securing the exhibits." This is an important first step.

Making the pieces accessible would be a new task for the association.

Former club chairman Carl Langheiter could not accept this: “The depot will remain a depot.” If a mayor wants something, then it can - unfortunately “the predecessor” didn't want it.

The Gersthaus gives the museum association new courage

SPD city councilor Paul Fertl stated: “You need visions to mobilize the club and urban society.

When the weather is bad, you can see that we don't have a museum. ”As an option, he again brought up the district's own barn house, which is being sold in the course of the new district office building - that is the chance for the city to find a solution together with the district.

District Administrator Olaf von Löwis was just as open to this as his predecessor Wolfgang Rzehak, reported Fertl of his advances: “We should continue in this direction.

A depot is not enough for me. "

The city should include the district in the museum

Fertl's city council colleague Inge Jooss agreed, but noted: “You need a tangible goal in order to win colleagues.” It makes sense to “think outside the box” and include the district, which does not have a museum.

And the price, added Tradler, "the district treasurer would not make so expensive".

Hermann Kraus also wants to enable new activities in the museum association.

His requests to organize exhibitions and to set up a working group for this purpose were accepted by a majority.

The goal is also rejuvenation.
