At least four people died, including a 4-year-old girl, due to the flooding in Alabama, which is preparing this Thursday for the arrival of more storms after hours of torrential rains.

The forecast calls for more floods in areas like Greater Birmingham, which was under flash flood watch.
Forecasters predict another wet day for most of the state and up to 5 more inches of rain (13 centimeters).

Marshall County Coroner Cody Nugent confirmed that a 4-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman were killed in separate incidents when flooding washed away vehicles in northeast Alabama.

In addition, the authorities confirmed that they had found a man and a 23-year-old woman, both couples, who were missing.
Both were found inside a vehicle that was carried away by a strong current in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover.

The rain wreaked havoc in parts of northern Alabama, drowning cars in the greater Birmingham area and parts of the Tennessee Valley.
Rescuers helped drivers and passengers escape the floods, as low visibility and standing water became a deadly threat in some areas.

Pelham, outside Birmingham, suffered some of the worst flooding, where 82 people were rescued from their homes and more than 15 were pulled from their vehicles after up to 13 inches of rain caused streams and creeks to overflow, said the Fire Department on Thursday.
More than 100 rescuers participated in the work, as well as 16 boats.
"The water was getting into the car so fast that I had to go out the window
," Jill Caskey was quoted as saying by The Associated Press, who saw her sports car being towed out of a low parking lot in Pelham Thursday morning. .
Near the coast, heavy rainfall caused sewage to pour out of underground pipes.
