The night in Bad Elster is getting lighter.
A light installation should guide guests and residents through the spa - always until midnight.
Bad Elster - The Saxon State Spa Bad Elster in Vogtland wants to inspire guests at night with a light installation throughout the health resort.
The year-round, freely accessible world of experiences and lights connects the central buildings, strolling areas and the park landscape as if by a kind of strip of light, said Stephan Seitz from the Chursächsische Veranstaltungsgesellschaft of the German Press Agency.
The light shines from (today's) Friday evening - always from the beginning of dusk until midnight.
"With the lighting, the spa facilities are deliberately staged as part of the Free State's cultural heritage," said Seitz, explaining the joint project with Sächsische Staatsbäder GmbH.
These include the historical buildings of the Royal Kurhaus and the Albert Bath.
The illumination was implemented by the Görlitz lighting designer Ulrike Birnbaum, added Steffi Schlosser from the State Baths Press Office.

The subject of light pollution - i.e. the negative effects of artificial light on the environment - had been taken into account from the start.
“Sensible measures for the careful handling of the natural environment were chosen, primarily through the gentle technology, the rather soft lighting intensity and the limited useful life until midnight,” assured Schlosser.
Lighting designer Birnbaum emphasized: "Only LED light sources that tend to be warm white tones were used to protect insects."
State baths managing director Gernot Ressler only wanted to comment on the costs of the world of lights at the opening on Friday evening, according to the state baths press office.
In 1848 Bad Elster received the title “Royal Saxon State Bath”.
Together with the neighboring Bad Brambach, it forms today's Saxon State Baths.
Before the pandemic in 2019, Bad Elster was the Saxon front-runner among the health resorts with almost 600,000 overnight stays, followed by Oberwiesenthal in the Ore Mountains.
