Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has stated that starting this Sunday, the "green class" pilot will be expanded in schools in green localities.
As mentioned, the Cabinet decision currently only applies to green cities.
This means that in a green city students in isolation who are not vaccinated will be exempt from isolation subject to testing.
However, there are many cities that are yellow, orange or red.
There the students will go into isolation in case of verified Corona in the classroom.
This will happen unless the school participates in the "green class" pilot, then in that case even if the city color is orange or red the students are still exempt from isolation as they are part of the pilot that happens in about 120 schools.
The fact that students stay home until they get a negative answer is critical.
Full layout details:
- In a classroom where a verified patient is discovered, the students in the class will be tested by a PCR test performed at the Home Front Command positions or at the health funds.
- Students will remain in isolation until a negative answer is received, after which they will return to the classroom routine, with the obligation to perform rapid tests using antigen kits for a week.
- On the seventh day, another PCR test will be performed.
After receiving a negative answer, the whole class will return to routine.
