Finally a piece of normal student life again - after three semesters, the universities want to enable more face-to-face events again.

The students are happy - not just the freshmen.

Rostock / Greifswald - After the orientation events of the past few days, lectures will start next Monday at the universities in Rostock and Greifswald.

With extensive corona concepts, the universities want to enable more face-to-face events for students again.

"Basically we are of course looking forward to the next semester," said Hennis Herbst from the Asta at the University of Greifswald.

“I also think that the first week in particular helped that again.” The bars are well frequented again, the clubs are open again, and there is life in the city.

That reminds me of the pre-Corona period.

The third semesters were also happy about the steps back to normal.

"They haven't had an attendance semester yet."

The universities, for example, rely on the 3-G rule, i.e. access to face-to-face events only for those who have been tested, vaccinated or convalesced, on compulsory masking in buildings or, in some cases, on seating arrangements in a chessboard pattern for greater distances.

On Monday there will be a smaller enrollment ceremony in Greifswald Cathedral St. Nikolai.

Five students should symbolically sign in the university's book of honor on behalf of the faculties.

On the following Friday, representatives of the University and the city of Rostock's St. Mary's Church want to greet the new students via online broadcast.
