At Hannover-Langenhagen Airport, long queues have often formed at the security controls recently as a result of staff shortages. Employees of the contracted service provider now want to draw attention to the difficult situation themselves on Friday. According to the Verdi union, they are planning a protest around noon. The waiting times had annoyed many passengers in the past few weeks, some passengers even missed their plane because of the long delays.
Langenhagen - According to the federal police, the main reason was a shortage of employees at the responsible company Securitas.
Verdi accuses the company of poor planning and also calls for better working conditions for employees.
A Securitas spokesman had pointed out, among other things, that operations at the airport in the Lower Saxony state capital had been shut down for a long time.
In addition, additional regulations in the pandemic would have slowed down the processes.
The union, on the other hand, sees an overload of the staff.
