District

- As part of the citizens' test, according to which every citizen was entitled to a free quick test once a week, numerous employers also rely on this concept.

Will anything change if the tests become chargeable from Monday?

Two employers from the Freising district report.

"The disease is serious"

At the Adldinger construction company in Kranzberg, around 50 employees have so far been able to have themselves tested twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. “The health insurance company reimbursed the costs for one test. If someone wanted to be tested a second time, we paid for it ourselves, ”reports owner Andreas Adldinger. The offer should continue to exist in the future, because you want to be on the safe side. "We had employees who were infected - fortunately not at work, but still." Employee protection is a high priority, "the disease is serious".

Apart from that, the ongoing tests are purely useful from a business point of view.

“Of course, it depends on the employee and how long he is absent.

But a case can cost us between 5,000 and 20,000 euros, ”says Adldinger.

He calculates like this: "If we pay 1000 or 2000 euros for the tests per month, the costs are not as high as those that would result in the event of illness." In addition, the proportion of vaccinated people in his company is relatively high anyway.

"Investing in the safety of our employees"

The technology company Texas Instruments in Freising, one of the largest employers in the district, has been offering employee testing opportunities since April.

The company has borne the costs since the beginning, reports spokeswoman Andrea Hauptfleisch.

"For us, this is a very good investment in the safety of our employees and the maintenance of our production operations." Accordingly, there will be no changes to the test offer now either.

"With the elimination of the free tests, it is of course even more up to the employer," says BRK district chief Albert Söhl.

But of course he is interested in not introducing Corona into his company.

"Responsible employers therefore stick to their test concept."
