After the forced Corona break, the horticultural association Fahrenzhausen would like to become active again: In Advent, wreaths and arrangements should be made and sold - preferably at the Christmas market.
Großeisenbach
- It was a nice feeling for the members of the Association for Horticulture and Land Care in Fahrenzhausen to come together again.
At the annual general meeting at the landlord in Großeisenbach, the association was well positioned after a year and a half corona break.
The horticultural association currently has 177 members - a slightly downward trend.
There were hardly any actual club appearances during the pandemic, but there were a few deaths.
And so the slightly declining trend of the association, which a few years ago still had more than 200 people under its roof, intensified.
In return, due to the corona, there were no events and appointments where you could get to know new members and get them excited about the association.
In Fahrenzhausen, chairwoman Maria Greisl also observes the trend towards urbanization.
"The gardens of the lots are getting smaller and smaller," she said.
This also reduces the number of homeowners who are potential new members of the association.
Basically, the aim is to give people tips for a beautiful garden design.
The Fahrenzhausen municipal councils could confirm this assessment of Greisl, because they were getting more and more inquiries and applications in which the maximum development with the maximum sealing should be extracted from the plots.
By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.
When looking into the future, Maria Greisl is cautious with her management team, "because Corona will keep us busy for some time".
We are currently cautiously optimistic that we will be able to invite you to the end-of-year party on November 26th.
In addition, one waits until next year to see how the situation and the conditions for events or excursions develop.
The chairwoman is now waiting for an important decision that is still pending in the Fahrenzhausen community.
Traditionally, people take part in the Christmas market with homemade Advent wreaths and flower arrangements.
“The decision about a Christmas market should be made in the next two weeks,” said Maria Greisl.
The association is ready to tie wreaths again and can alternatively envisage production on a smaller scale for private sale.
But now the members are waiting for the local council to set the course.
