The corona pandemic has given Netflix an unexpected boom.
But customers who booked the service via Apple now have to be brave.
Cupertino - Netflix subscribers who pay for the service with their Apple account can expect a nasty surprise soon.
When opening the app or the website, customers expect a message from the streaming provider, as
reported by the
Ifun.de
portal
.
The message says that the monthly price will be adjusted from November onwards.
Netflix also writes: "We're adding more great entertainment to Netflix so you can enjoy even more content."
Apple payer: that's how much they'll have to pay in the future
So far, Netflix users who pay their bills via their App Store account still pay 11.99 euros per month for the standard subscription and 15.99 euros for the premium subscription.
In the future, however, they will have to pay just as much as customers who do not pay through Apple.
So 12.99 euros for the standard tariff and 17.99 euros for the premium option.
However, the base price of 7.99 euros remains unchanged.
Apple users can still save
New customers have been paying these prices since January 2021 and existing customers with other payment options since March of this year. Apple payers were able to save a few more months before they are now asked to pay. Nevertheless, bargain hunters can still get a few euros cheaper with the payment function via the Apple account. Because there are always Apple credit cards to buy at reduced prices, which can then be used to pay for the streaming subscription.
But if you now hope to be able to change your payment option quickly and thus save, you will unfortunately be disappointed.
Only customers who had a Netflix subscription through their Apple account by December 2018 can continue to pay with it.
Afterwards, Netflix deactivated this option for new customers in order to bypass mandatory revenue shares from Apple.
