Chicago - US President Joe Biden has defended extensive corona vaccination requirements for workers.
"My message is: Ask your employees to get vaccinated so that we can finally defeat this pandemic," Biden said on Thursday in Elk Grove Village near Chicago.
Without a vaccination, there would be endless months of chaos in hospitals, damage to the economy, fear in schools and empty restaurants.
Biden had already increased the pressure on unvaccinated Americans in September and put on vaccination requirements.
He had tightened the vaccination regulations for employees of the federal government and suppliers.
His plan of action also provides that companies with more than 100 employees should be required to have all employees vaccinated or to have themselves tested for an infection with the coronavirus at least once a week.

The Ministry of Labor will shortly issue a corresponding emergency regulation, announced Biden.
“Overall, this Department of Labor vaccination will affect 100 million Americans.
That's about two-thirds of all the people who work in America, ”said Biden.
It was not his first drive to issue vaccination regulations.
But this is the only way to fight the pandemic.
The US vaccination campaign is making very slow progress.
So far, 56.2 percent of the population of around 330 million people have been vaccinated.
The Democrat also named various companies that already have vaccination regulations.
"That's always what I really enjoy," said Biden, then whispered, "Fox News."
Even the conservative broadcaster requires its employees to be vaccinated.
In mid-September, US media had reported, citing a personnel manager, that the media company Fox Corporation was planning that all employees should be vaccinated or have to be tested regularly.
