Saturday October 16 will be marked by a series of commemorations, one year to the day after the death of Samuel Paty.
The history and geography professor at the Bois-de-l'Aulne college, in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines), had been beheaded by a Chechen terrorist after a smear campaign on social networks.
The teacher had shown caricatures of Muhammad in the classroom.

The day in his memory will begin in the morning in the neighboring town of Éragny (Val-d'Oise), where Samuel Paty resided, then will continue in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine with a national tribute to the college of Bois-de-l ' Alder, before ending with a rally at Place de la Liberté, at 3 p.m.
On this occasion, the mayor (DVD) Laurent Brosse will unveil a book-shaped monument evoking free expression.
The book will appear open, at the edge of the square.
"It is essential to pay tribute to Samuel Paty and the values he defended through his teaching, not only to perpetuate his memory and never forget, but also to recall our unwavering attachment to our values and to freedom of expression" , explains the elected this Friday in a press release.
The statue of the teacher expected in November
On the other hand, the stele in memory of the teacher which is to be erected at the college will not be unveiled during this series of tributes.
Six months ago, the establishment's board of directors voted for the principle of a statue - a bust - in his memory.
The Parisian sculptor Nacéra Kainou realizes the work, in collaboration with the family, but it will not be completed before November.
On the eve of this first anniversary, Friday, all schools in France will also have been invited by the Ministry of National Education to pay tribute to the teacher.
They will be able to organize a minute of silence and devote an hour of class to a time of tribute and exchanges.
