The firefighting teams in Homs governorate put out a fire that broke out today in agricultural lands between the villages of Batisa Al-Jard and Al-Sindianeh in the northwestern countryside of Homs.
Brigadier General Ghiath Aqel, Director of Civil Defense in Homs, said in a statement to SANA reporter that after receiving a report about a fire in agricultural lands between the villages of Batisa al-Jurd and al-Sindiya and its extension towards the homes of citizens, civil defense personnel went to the place immediately and worked with the extinguishing of the Agriculture Directorate and the Homs Fire Brigade to cordon off the fire. Controlling it, extinguishing it, and carrying out the cooling process to prevent its regeneration.
Aqel indicated that the area of the fire is estimated at 550 dunams, of which about 50 dunums are planted with olive and almond trees, up to 550 olive and almond trees, and the remaining 500 dunams are areas of dry grass.
